Common issues #
-
Stuck background processes after a crash.
When in doubt, restart. Relogging may suffice most of the time.
-
Using a bugged/unstable Proton version or not using it at all:
Open Steam Library -> Right-click Resonite -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Check Force (…) and choose a (different) Proton variant.
Note: you need to restart Steam after installing an unofficial Proton variant.
-
Using OpenComposite:
Please double-check if WiVRn/Envision is set to use xrizer, not OpenComposite. More details here.
-
Using standalone SteamVR or ALVR:
SteamVR is known to be unstable, while ALVR is considered legacy. If you have a standalone headset, use WiVRn and uninstall SteamVR. Otherwise, using Monado through its wrapper/GUI Envision will work better than SteamVR in most cases.
-
Using Flatpak or standalone WiVRn without envivonment variables.
Some WiVRn packages require you to copy env vars from its dashboard to Resonite’s Steam launch options. You may need to reboot your system after installing WiVRn to see them there.
-
Incorrect launch arguments format.
